Opulence is key for high summer with eveningwear and occasion-wear making a huge comeback on the runways with designers looking to sexy silhouettes in simple cuts to showcase special fabrics.
Ornate embellishments created tactile surface interest on the runways shown in both long and short gowns, think beading, sequins & floral appliqué.
Plunging necklines took us back to the 1970s, while romantic bohemian prints in sheer layers with a maxi dress style embraced a softer look. Tiered styles make a comeback often seen in tulles, chiffon, silk & lace.
Feminine cut suits and skirt sets in deluxe jacquards appear again nodding towards the 1980s and 1990s. The shirt gown was a strong look with designers showcasing these in a large variety of fabrics – cotton laces, sequins, appliqué and sheer tulles.
Fashion Trend Colour was a mix of subdued, classic and vigorous. White grounds with painterly pastel florals, the classic black & gold combinations were seen and other designers looked to the ultra brights and shiny jewels for their inspiration.
